MATRIX MFG CO
SKI TRACK SYSTEM (P/N 102)
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The Matrix Ski Track System is designed to:
A. Protect the deck of your trailer,
B. Guide your snowmobile exactly to its desired position on the trailer,
C. Ease the unloading of your snowmobiles, and
D. Accept a variety of ski stances.
You should be aware of the following terms as used in these instructions:
Outside Edge: Driver or Passenger side edge of the trailer.
Inside: Position closest to the centerline of the trailer.
Ramp Section: Section of the Ski Track System having one downward bent edge designed to hang over the rear edge of the trailer.
Extension Section: Section of the Ski Track System which has one end cut open which is designed to overlap another section.
DR: Driver Side Ramp section.
DE: Driver Side Extension section.
CR: Center Ramp section (used for either the driver side half or the passenger side half).
CE: Center Extension section (used for either the driver side half or the passenger side half).
PR: Passenger Side Ramp section.
PE: Passenger Side Extension section.
A complete Ski Track System consists of eight plastic tracks plus hardware. You will need a Phillips #2 power screw bit and a screw gun or power drill to install your Ski Track System. The backside of each track section is stamped with identification of the piece. Half the system is designed for the driver side of the trailer and the other half for the passenger side; the outside pieces are not interchangeable for either side of the trailer. A driver side half consists of the following tracks: DR, DE, CR and CE. The passenger side half consists of the following tracks: PR, PE, CR and CE. You determine whether it is a passenger half or a driver half by looking for the identification stamp on the track and by looking at a cross section view. Your system should consist of the following:

outside ramp sections (marked )

sections (marked DE and PE). )
Two inside

1. Choose one side of your trailer to work on first. Place ramp sections of your Ski Track System on the trailer with the bent edge matching the angle of the rear extrusion or hanging over the back edge of the trailer. (This prevents the carbides and wear bars from catching the back edge of the trailer.)
2. Take the outside ramp section for the half of the trailer you are installing (either DR or PR) and place it as close to the side edge of the trailer as possible leaving enough room to accommodate your particular size skis.

Outside Edge of Trailer (Driver Side) Outside Edge of Trailer (Passenger Side)
Using six screws provided, fasten the Ski Track outside ramp section to the trailer. Drive the screws through the Ski Track sections in the approximate location shown until the head of the screw is flush with the top of the Ski Track section. If you are screwing through any aluminum extrusion, you will need to drill a pilot hole first to ease installation. Do not overtighten.

3. The
extension section (DE or PE) will be placed to overlap the end of the ramp
section. Prior to fastening the extension section to the trailer, determine the
length needed for the extension and cut the section, if needed, to custom fit
your trailer. Cut the "closed end" of the extension section. Be sure that the
extension section is fastened down where it overlaps the ramp section and that
it runs in a straight line. You should use eight screws for this
extension section.
Note: If your trailer is longer than 10’, you can purchase Ski Track
Extension Sets. A Set consists of 4 pieces (1-DE, 1-PE and 2-CEs), and 32
screws. It will add an additional 5’ of Ski Track to your trailer. Install the
Ski Track Extension Set by repeating this step.
4.
Determine
the lengthwise center line of your trailer. Carefully measure one inch from the
center line to the edge of the flange on the inside ramp section (CR). Fasten
this section (CR) and the overlapping section (CE) to the trailer in the same
fashion as the outside pieces. Keep the sections running in a straight line
paralleling the center line of the trailer.
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the other half of your trailer.
